In Memoriam Robert Bockmiller, the compiler of the monograph Thomas Coar of Belfast, Ireland and His Descendants, died on 10 October 1999. Requiescat en pace, Bob.

This Web site is a live work-in-progress; updates happen all the time, though at irregular intervals. What we have is listed below and linked in the sidebar.

• NEW! (as of 2001-09-30) I have scanned in several of the photostat copies of photographs included in Bob Bockmillers monograph; you can see them by following the link in the sidebar. I also added a link to the records pages to the sidebar.
• Robert Bockmiller assembled a number of family group sheets together with a narrative history written by John Coar in 1908. The first 16 pages of the textual portion is available, though there may be inaccuracies or typos introduced by the scanning process.
• The index of family group records from Bob Bockmiller's monograph has been scanned in.
• There is a mailing list for online members of the Coar family. To join, send a message with "subscribe" as the only word in the body (not the subject!) of a message to <Coar-net-request@Coar.Org>. The archives of the list can be found here, though they're not indexed in any way -- just files containing monthly traffic.
